Terms of service

The short version: TractEdge drafts working geometry from a written description, you check it, and the professional judgement stays yours. The rest of this page says that carefully.

What TractEdge is

TractEdge reads a written land description, resolves the survey it references against public reference geometry, computes a boundary from the calls, and exports it in a GIS format. It is a drafting aid for professionals.

It is not a survey. It does not produce a boundary survey, a plat, a title opinion or a legal determination of where a boundary lies, and it is not a substitute for a licensed professional land surveyor. Nothing it produces should be recorded, relied on as a boundary determination, or presented as the work of a surveyor. Where a boundary matters legally, engage a licensed surveyor.

The reference data underneath it — the Texas RRC and GLO original land survey polygons, and BLM PLSS geometry — is published by its sources as a digital interpretation, not as a legal survey product. TractEdge’s output inherits that limitation.

Your responsibility

• Check the output. Every draft shows its closure, its precision ratio, and which phrase of your document each value came from, precisely so it can be checked before you act on it.
• You need the right to the documents you upload. Don’t send us material you aren’t permitted to share.
• Use it lawfully, and don’t attempt to disrupt the service or reach data that isn’t yours.

Your content

The documents you send stay yours. You grant us the permission we need to process them in order to run the service and to improve how the software reads documents like them — nothing more. What that means in practice, including retention and deletion, is set out on the privacy page, which forms part of these terms.

The geometry TractEdge drafts from your description, and the export bundles it produces, are yours to use however you like.

Availability during the beta

TractEdge is early. It runs on a small deployment, features change, and there is no uptime commitment. We will not pretend otherwise in order to sound established. If your plan carries commitments beyond this page, they will be in a signed order form and that document governs.

Payment

Two ways to pay, both at the price shown at the moment you pay it. A single tract is a one-off charge; that tract is available to export and re-export without further payment in the private browser session that bought it. A one-off purchase does not create a reusable login, so keep using that browser. A plan bills monthly in advance, includes the stated number of tracts, and can be cancelled at any time — you keep it until the end of the period you have paid for, and we do not refund part-months.

A tract is counted once, when it is first drafted. Re-drafting the same tract within 30 days is free; after that a fresh draft counts again. Tracts beyond a plan’s included number bill at the overage rate published for that plan. Editing and exporting are never metered.

If we change published prices, the change applies to your next billing period and not retroactively. Where a plan has been agreed separately in writing, that agreement governs its price and term.

Warranties and liability

The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that a draft will be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular decision — the entire design of the product assumes a professional will check it.

To the maximum extent the law allows, TractEdge is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, arising from use of the service; and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Where the service is provided free of charge, that amount is zero. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud.

Ending it

You can stop using TractEdge whenever you like and ask us to delete everything. We may suspend an account for non-payment or for use that breaks these terms, and we’ll tell you why. If we discontinue the service you get 60 days’ notice and export access throughout.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and the courts of Texas have exclusive jurisdiction.
